Made our way down to the famous Borough Market- heaven for foodies- but, blaming it on my sometimes-bad luck, it was closed. :( A little disappointed because I was so excited for this stop! I've seen pictures of it and all the food looks uhhh-mazing. Making the best of the situation, we decided to take a long walk to Tower Hill where the Tower of London is located.

By the time we got there (4pm), the Tower was closed for the day. Whaaaaaat up with the bad luck streak man (this was also the day that I fell ill). At least we had some hot fish & chips.
The next day, we came back and the sun was out in full force. I relished it and basked in it because the warm sensation of sun on my skin had become such a rare one HAHA. Also, just as a pointer, it's never a good idea to visit tourist attractions on weekends. Snaking queues everywhere... queues TO GET to the queues.... but the tour of the Tower was really good.

Such an expansive castle & so rich in history. It was really interesting (for a nerd like me) and I don't know why but I really enjoy going to historic sites and thinking "omg Anne Boleyn was executed at this very spot". (Is that weird and morbid? Maybe.) But morbidness aside, I've always had a keen interest in the workings of royalty and monarchy. The crown jewels were absolutely STUNNING but sadly, no photography was allowed. (You can google pictures instead).

A good morning spent learning some historical knowledge in place of usual relatively mind-numbing shopping- good to add some value to a holiday! Also felt really privileged to get a picture of this raven. But it makes me sad to think about its clipped wings for the sake of novelty..
