Back from my 2 week sojourn to the beautiful land of tea, biscuits, scones, the union jack & crown jewels. It was a greeeat holiday and I had so much fun! We visited Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham & London. The weather was positively icy- you know, the kind of dry cold where you exhale and you can see your breath as a mist? I LOVED DOING THAT. It never gets old (or maybe I'll never grow up).

 • DAY 1 •

Touched down at Heathrow, took a train to London's King Cross station and took a 2 hour train ride to Leeds. We lugged our bags through the freezing wind, so imagine my delight when the hotel receptionists handed us some warm, freshly-baked, massive chocolate chip cookies. Even better- compliments of the hotel. Everything tastes better when it's free, right? Right?

After washing up and resting for a bit, we headed out to meet my oldest brother and then went to see the German Christmas markets. I loved visiting these markets because there's nothing like the smell of bratwurst and onions, and festive log-houses to put you in a good mood. & what's merrier than a merry-go-round at night? OH, one thing about the UK- in the winter, it turns dark at 3.30pm... so yeah.

Yup, that's my dad totally rockin' the NY beanie. We were so exhausted from all the travelling that by the time dinner came round, we were falling asleep in our chairs in the middle of the restaurant (not kidding). So an early turn-in it was! I think we slept at 7.30pm.. and not gonna lie, it felt good having a senior's bedtime.

 • DAY 2 •

Breakfast at Yates's involved this beastly sandwich. I had hot porridge with jam (yeh boring whatever) but my brother had this towering stack that looked pretty damn good.

After, we walked around exploring town. We went to the Corn Exchange, followed by the Kirkgate Market which is home to the original & oldest Marks' and Spencers' store in the UK. Also had lovely flower stalls amongst other things.

Whilst at the market, I spotted this adorable little one and asked his owner if I could snap a picture of him. He was so tiny and shivering in the cold while his owner dug into a hot burger so I felt really, really bad for the poor thing. Wanted to knit him a dog sweater or something! After lunch, we walked a ridiculously long distance to my brother's hall where we chilled for a bit. Look at the view!

Til next post! x
