Raw Brownie Bites

These days I seem to be craving chocolate a lot, even more than the copious amounts I normally enjoy. I saw this recipe online and thought it might give me a relatively-healthier chocolate fix. They're not any less sinful than chocolate, but at least they're made without refined sugar or artificial ingredients. Nuts are rather expensive, but I got the dates on sale which made up for it! The best part about this recipe is that it's SO easy. Three main ingredients and you just blend it. I can't believe it's made from all-natural ingredients because it tastes so decadently sinful (and dark chocolatey)!

I got the recipe from a website but I adapted it a little. I had gotten cashews instead of walnuts (brain fart), but I think that worked for the better because they blended a lot more easily. I also didn't have vanilla, so I used vanilla sugar. I didn't add the pinch of salt because the nuts were already lightly salted. After all, the recipe is just a guideline so you can make substitutions as and where you see necessary!

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups cashews
Pinch of salt
1 cup pitted dates (soak for 10 minutes to make blending easier)
1 tsp vanilla (or vanilla sugar)
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions:
Add the cashews and salt to a blender/ food processor, and blend until it's finely ground.
Add the dates, vanilla, and cocoa powder to the blender. Mix well until everything is combined.
If your mixture is a bit dry, add a few drops of water.
Form round balls of dough and chill in the refrigerator.
