Råbjerg Mile

Rabjerg Mile is the largest moving sand dune in Northern Europe and it was breathtaking. I think this was my favourite sight of the entire trip - sand and nothing but sand for miles around. The day was sunny and the sand was warm, soft and fine. I love the vastness of these open spaces that made me feel absolutely tiny.

Grenen, Denmark

Some long overdue photos, but a month ago, we went on a trip to see the other cities of Denmark. I was supposed to wake up at three a.m. When I woke to see that it was already four a.m., (we were supposed to meet at 4.30am) I flew into a frenzy. I swept everything on the table into my bag, stuffed whatever I could into my pockets and ran out the door. With a 45 litre bag on my back, I pedalled furiously in the biting cold across the long road from Amager, up across the seemingly endless bridge into town, all while being powered by a serious shot of adrenaline. I got to the meeting point - sweaty despite the frost, panting heavily with a thigh ache coming right up.

Anyway, that's beside the point.

Our first stop on this great Danish trip was to see the northern most point of Denmark, Grenen. It's also the point where two oceans meet so you can actually see the collision of colours of the different oceans. Perhaps this is only visible to the trained eye, because my clearly amateur pair of eyes could see nothing but blue. A vaguely bluer section maybe, but that was it. Although I was a little disappointed, the beach was beautiful.
